What is TPO?
TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) is a single-ply flat roofing material created from a combination of plastic and rubber. The result is an ideal commercial roofing system that is reliable, cost-effective, energy-efficient, and easy to install. TPO is one of the fastest-growing single-ply materials on the market.
Benefits
When Should I Consider TPO?
Because of its high reflectivity, TPO is generally used in hotter, southern climates.
The Installation Process
TPO is applied in large rolls that vary in both size and thickness. TPO can be fully adhered, mechanically fastened, or ballasted. The seams of the membrane are hot air-welded together to form a strong waterproof bond between sheets.
Warranty
TPO warranties depend upon the thickness and type of TPO selected, ranging from 15-35 years
Most manufacturers offer NDL (No Dollar Limit) warranties, no leak warranties, and puncture warranties (for higher-end thicknesses).
